Combat Pistol Marksmanship

Advanced Combat Pistol Marksmanship

This one-day class picks up where Combat Pistol Marksmanship leaves off and will train you to take longer and more difficult shots as well as using cover and the environment to assist in keeping you safe from incoming gunfire as well as aid your marksmanship.

Defensive Pistol Skills

All training must begin with fundamentals.  This comprehensive fundamentals class is designed to prep you for the more advanced courses such as Close Range Gunfighting.  Through a carefully designed and detailed curriculum we are able to bring you up to a level of skill in a short two day class that previously would take over 4 or 5 days to achieve at other schools.

You will learn a complete presentation of the modern combative technique of the pistol which will put you in good standing for any defensive situations you may encounter in the real world.  No experience or prior training is needed to attend this class and it is specially suitable for beginners, or as a tune-up for accomplished shooters.

Point Shooting Gunfight Skills

All training must begin with fundamentals.  This class is designed to teach you the entire point shooting system taught at Suarez International and prep you for the more advanced courses such as Point Shooting Progressions.  Through a carefully detailed curriculum you will learn the components of various point shooting methods and integrate them into your existing skill sets.  This knowledge will put you in good standing for any defensive situations you may encounter in the real world.  No experience or prior training is needed to attend this class and it is specially suitable for beginners.

Close Range Gunfighting

This is our flagship course and goes as far as you can safely go on a square range with live-fire pistols. The dynamic curriculum surpasses the traditional handgun methods commonly taught in most institutions and focuses of the use of the pistol in aggressive close range applications likely in individual civilian street encounters.

The class begins with a tune-up of the fundamentals, then we progress quickly to new skills such as Proactive and Reactive Manipulations, Shooting While Moving Off The X, Reality-Based Multiple Hostiles Engagement, 360 degree CQB Movement, Danger-Close Fighting, Bilateral Shooting, 360 degree After Action Assessment Methods, and Integrating the Flashlight and Other Tools into the Firing Platform. This is the life-saving material that is often ignored in many other programs. In two days, you will receive more information than most armed professionals ever get!

This course is not for the novice shooter.  You don’t need to be a crack shot, but safe, solid gunhandling skills are essential.

Rifle Classes

Fighting Rifle Skills

All training must begin with fundamentals. This fundamental rifle class is designed to prep you for the more advanced courses such as Close Range Rifle Gunfighting and Advanced Rifle Gunfighting. Through a carefully designed and detailed no nonsense curriculum we are able to bring you up to a level of skill in a short two day class that previously would take over 4 or 5 days to achieve at other schools. You will learn a complete presentation of the combative technique of the rifle which will put you in good standing for any defensive situations you may encounter in the real world. No experience or prior training is needed to attend this class and it is specially suitable for beginners.

Rifle Gunfighting

Rifle confrontations worldwide rarely exceed 25 yards. Rather than a long range marksman’s weapon, our research shows the rifle will most likely be used just outside the reach of more conventional weapons, as well as within these closer intervals of confrontation.

This course will take the student quickly through the basics and impart the techniques necessary to deploy the Tactical Rifle, Civilian Carbine, or Submachine gun in a close interval emergency. This course is highly recommended for civilian defenders, military personnel, or police operators (we make no distinction in the material presented).

Kalashnikov Rifle Gunfighting

The AK-47/74 series of rifle is one of the most prolific and useful weapons on earth. Close to 100 million have been made in various parts of the world and anyone’s chances of encountering these weapons is high. This special course will take a close look at the Kalashnikov Rifle System and teach you to fight with it in both the standard “urban rifle” engagement as well as in the Close Range Gunfighting matrix. This material will have you appreciating the AK platform like no other rifle. It is too simple to be “tactical”.

AR15/M4 Rifle Gunfighting

AR style rifles are the most popular rifle system in America today.  In this class we explore the capabilities/strengths and weaknesses of the AR15/M16/M4 Weapons systems.  In Suarez International fashion, sacred cows end up as dinner while we methodically address history, operation and the tricks and tips of professional operators who have used and continue to use this venerable, most American of Assault Rifles. Expect to be surprised to find out just how reliable the AR can be if proper care and operational protocols are followed.

This is not your usual re-hashed presentation of the pistol with a rifle that you get in other schools, nor is it SWAT material only suitable for use in a team format. This material is focused for the lone operator regardless of his official status.

Tactics Classes

CQB: Fighting in Structures

The vast majority of firearms training takes place on nice, flat, unobstructed ranges. Perhaps if the instructor is feeling particularly feisty, he might drag out a barrel or barricade to give you a taste of shooting around cover. This class isn’t just a taste, it’s a full meal. This course focuses on the tactics and techniques for fighting inside a building. Students will learn how to negotiate any architectural obstacle found in a building using tactical logic, and to handle any high risk situation they might face from setting up a hasty ambush for burglars, to searching for the source of a suspicious noise, to direct attacks against active shooters or home invaders. Students will operate in varying light levels, learning how to use varying lighting conditions, room lights, and tactical lights, both handheald and weapon mounted. This course does not try to stuff SWAT tactics into a context they weren’t intended for, these techniques were designed from the ground up for the lone operator or two person team. Moreover, all of the material is easy to learn and draws on existing skill sets learned in other Suarez International training courses.

This course is not about leaving a mountain of spent brass on the range, it is about learning to think tactically and solve problems like an operator. Open to all private citizens.
